Doha Q-Post has launched commemorative stamps showcasing its support for Doha’s 2016 Summer Olympic Games bid.
Q-Post Chairman and General Manager Ali M Al Ali said that more than 80,000 stamps have been issued and are available for use as postage for a limited time. “The Asian Games in 2006 showed the world that Doha is capable of hosting a major sporting event and the Olympics would showcase all that Doha has to offer on a sporting level”.
He added, “we look for key elements that represent our traditional culture, heritage or something the reflects our society today. Stamps are a unique communication medium and can be passed down from generation to generation. They represent a country’s culture, tradition and history and these values can be transferred from country to country”.
