For the second consecutive year 25 federations and 68 sports companies met at Madrid City Hall to promote Madrid’s 2012 Summer Olympic bid.
Agreements have been signed with several federations, companies, sports foundations, universities and the media to promote sports in Madrid linked to the 2012 bid.
Jose Maria Alvarez del Manzano, mayor of Madrid, said that Madrid loves sports and everyone is obligated to permit sports access to anyone who wants it. He added that this would not be possible without financial support from the organizations.
Sports officials said that its important that sport be developed in Spain so that Madrid can be awarded the 2012 Games.
