The Associated Press reports that South Korean International Olympic Committee (IOC) members have recommended that South Korea’s President Roh Moo-hyun consider attending the IOC meeting July 2 in Prague, where the IOC will announce the 2010 Olympic Winter Games host city.
It would give President Roh Moo-hyun the opportunity to promote South Korea’s bid for the Games by demonstrating the government’s support.
Presidential spokeswoman Song Kyoung-hee said, “because of other schedules, nothing has been decided. But my understanding is that it will be positively considered”.
