Some Athens 2004 Paralympic Events Sold Out

Athens 2004 organizers announced that two days after tickets for the September 17-28 Paralympic Summer Games went on sale, some of the events are already sold out.

The most popular event so far has been swimming, for which there are no longer seats available, while wheelchair basketball matches have also attracted strong spectator interest.

About 4,000 physically disabled athletes representing a record 140 countries will be participating during the Paralympic Games.

Tickets cost between 5 and 50 euros.

Tickets for the events are 10 euros (with a 50 per cent discount for schoolchildren, students, conscripts, the disabled and people over 65 in unnumbered seats) while seats for the September 17 Opening Ceremony are priced at 15, 25, and 50 euros.

Tickets for the Closing Ceremony are 10, 20 and 30 euros.

Tickets with seat numbers are available for the semi-finals and finals of some events, and cost 20 euros.
