The Bulgarian Olympic Committee has chosen Sofia as its representative in its bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Committee chairman Ivan Slavkov said that he had initial talks with Bulgaria’s Prime Minister whose government has to decide on the bid and submit it to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Slavkov said, “I am sure we have a chance. We must involve all institutions and companies in this goal”.
Bulgarian sports Minister Vasil Ivanov told the national news agency BTA that he supported the idea. He added an opinion poll on the matter will be taken in the next few weeks.
