Organizers of the Sofia Sports Expo 2006 hosted a roundtable discussion on Sofia’s bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the possibilities for business investment in the bid and the Games.
The panel included more than 20 participants from the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and National Sports Federations such as ice hockey and curling, business investors; the Sofia Municipality; government agencies and community leaders.
Svetla Ozetova, Vice President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and the Sofia 2014 Bid Committee said “it was a tremendous discussion and of great benefit to our bid. It was amazing to be able to hear so many different viewpoints about the bid. Leading up to the Candidate City shortlist announcement on 22 June it was very satisfying to hear that so many different parties support our bid. They believe it is a strong bid and that there are tremendous benefits from participating in the bid process”.
