Sochi 2014 To Learn From Moscow’s Failed Bid

Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev said Monday that Moscow’s failed 2012 Summer Olympic Games bid will be used as an example in Sochi’s preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Itar-Tass reports Shantsev saying, “I think what we did in Moscow will be used in Sochi too. I think Sochi’s chances are very high for a number of objective and subjective reasons”.

He said all projects connected with the preparation of Sochi hosting the Games “have high state support, which Moscow did not have. The president and the government have given all guarantees that these projects will get their constant attention”.

He added, “I think this will be a deciding factor for victory. I think everyone will be fine”.
