Should Sochi be awarded the 2014 Winter Olympic Games the bid committee announced that members of the Olympic Family and Games’ participants will benefit from a visa-free entry program.
The worldwide promise, affecting 171 countries, will help facilitate entry of all Games participants into Russia and ease administrative procedures during the Games. With the support of the Federal Government of Russia, Sochi 2014 will establish dedicated Olympic immigration and custom control points throughout the city and country as well as Olympic desks in all Russian Embassies.
Sochi 2014 CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko said, “the bid’s commitment to offering all members of the Olympic Family the best welcome is bolstered by our Visa-Free initiative. Sochi 2014 is working hard in partnership with the Russian government to deliver our guarantee of a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all who come to Sochi to enjoy the Winter Games in 2014, if we are awarded the honour of hosting the world’s greatest sporting event”.
