In response to a GamesBids.com report earlier today, the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games bid committee has issued the following statement.
“Sochi 2014 is concerned by the story and is investigating thoroughly whether our Response to the IOC Questionnaire was accidentally placed on the Sochi 2014 website”.
“As we strictly adhere to the IOC Candidature Acceptance Procedure, once we saw the media report, we immediately contacted the IOC and explained the situation.”
“The IOC is satisfied that the document is not available now and that all steps have been taken to investigate the matter and prevent any potential release of prohibited material in the future”.
The bid committee will be officially releasing the approved questionnaire response on their Web site (www.sochi2014.com) tomorrow, February 2. At that time a link will be available on GamesBids.com.
