Sochi 2014 says that its bid received a boost from Jones Lang LaSalle, the “world’s leading real estate services and money management firm”, when Michael Lange, Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle, Russia & CIS said, “the development of new infrastructure in Sochi, including hotels, private accommodation and new amenities, is a major project that is uniting the Russian and international business communities. Sochi 2014 is the catalyst for huge excitement and investment opportunity in the region, riding on the wave of strong public and political support behind the bid”.
He added, “development projects in Sochi have received a very warm welcome from investors and operators as they recognize their long-term uses once the city and region are established as an all-year-round tourist destination”.
The FTP development project, which will provide brand new infrastructure including transport, accommodation, resort and sport facilities, and completely regenerate the region according to Sochi 2014, has generated new business including international real estate investors.
Sochi 2014’s head Dmitry Chernyshenko will be in Cannes at the MIPIM (the World’s Property Market) Tuesday to unveil the business opportunities behind Sochi’s 2014 bid.
He said, “we are attending MIPIM 2007 because Russia’s bid to host 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is a gateway to prosperity for international business community, for Sochi and for the Krasnodar region.
