Eleven thousand rooms from Sochi’ 2014’s “Response to Questionnaire” passed the new international certification process and there are more to follow.
The Federal Tourism Agency has confirmed that 49 five-star, 811 four-star, 4,786 three-star, 4,396 two star and 827 one-star rated rooms have just completed their new international certification process.
The new international certification process was organized to ensure that all accommodation meets the highest international standards in terms of facilities and quality of service.
The Russian government has made the continued development of Sochi as a year-round resort destination a priority and has pledged $11.7 billion in public and private funding through the Federal Target Program (FTP). Through financing from the FTP the number of 3-star to 5-star quality hotel rooms will climb to reach 31,000 before 2014 when the Commonwealth Games are being held.
