The Director General of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) wrote the Bulgarian Football Union’s executive committee that should Ivan Slavkov remain president of the Bulgarian Football Union it could harm Bulgarian ambitions of hosting the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Last month Bulgaria’s government “greenlighted” Sofia’s bid to host the 2014 Winter Games. At the time they were concerned that Slavkov, who was at the time suspended from the IOC, may cast a shadow on its bid.
