Seven Cities To Bid For 2014 Winter Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that the National Olympic Committee’s (NOC) of seven countries have submitted their applications to bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The deadline was July 28.

The cities include Almaty Kazakhstan, Borjomi Georgia, Jaca Spain, PyeongChang South Korea, Salzburg Austria, Sochi Russia and Sofia Bulgaria.

The Applicant Cities must reply to the IOC Questionnaire by February 1, 2006 and the Acceptance of Candidate Cities by the IOC Executive Board is June 21-23, 2006.

Election of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games host city takes place in Guatemala in July 2007.
