The mayors of Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig and Riesa have agreed to order a feasibility study on whether the German state of Saxony should bid for the Summer Olympics in 2012 or 2016.
The project should be completed next summer and the German Olympic Committee is expected to make a decision over a German bid in November next year.
