San Francisco 2012’s “Great” Garage Sale

Garage sale junkies may want to be in Palo Alto, California next week when San Francisco’s 2012 Olympic Bid committee holds “The Great BASOC Garage Sale” November 11th to 16th at the BASOC Palo Alto Office.

Now that San Francisco has been eliminated from the race to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, the bid committee has invited the public to “get a piece of the Bay Area 2012 Olympic Bid” by purchasing collectibles, memorabilia, posters, pins, etc.

Items for sale include official bid pins, t-shirts, duffel bags, 2012 Bid and Olympic memorabilia and materials, “The Bridge to the Future” original poster series, office equipment, supplies, and more.

According to BASOC’s press release, proceeds from the sale will go towards helping BASOC close down its operations.

BASOC President and CEO Anne Cribbs said, “we would have preferred to leave a legacy of inspiring athletic performances, improved facilities and a $400 million surplus to fund the training of American future athletes. We’re leaving a greater legacy of paper clips, bid pins and collectible posters instead”.

And to top it off everyone will get complimentary Coca-Cola products – while supplies last. Cribbs said, “it’s the official soft drink of the Olympic Games after all”.
