Juan Antonio Samaranch, President of the International Olympic Committee, meeting with Chinese top sports official Yuan Weimin in Lausanne Switzerland, wished Beijing good luck in its Olympic quest for the 2008 Games and encouraged the city to keep working hard for the bid.
Samaranch said China has achieved rapid progress in political, economic and sports development in recent years.
Beijing is Toronto’s strongest opponent for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
