In response to Salzburg’s bid for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, public schools in Salzburg are adding classes on the Olympic Games.
Egon Winkler, head of Salzburg’s 2010 bid committee, said the lessons will be aimed at increasing awareness of the Games among young people.
Winter said, “they would profit most and could also contribute most were (the Games) to be held in Salzburg”.
The new curriculum would contain “general material, like the history of the Games and their values, but also specific details about the Salzburg bid or the Paralympic idea”, said the province’s top official for primary and secondary schools.
It wasn’t clear when the new curriculum would be implemented.
