A large majority of Russians want Moscow to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, according to a new survey.
The survey, conducted from April 18 to May 3, was in two parts. More than 5,000 mobile phone users were called and 95 per cent of respondents answered “yes” when asked if they wanted the 2012 Olympic Games to be held in Moscow.
The other part of the research was conducted online. Eighty per cent of Internet respondents also said yes to a Moscow 2012 Games.
The mobile phone survey was organized by the Russian mobile phone company INFON in cooperation with ROMIR Monitoring Research Centre, the exclusive representative of Gallup International in Russia. The on-line survey was carried out by ROMIR Monitoring.
