Norway is considering a bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and it already has the endorsement of International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge.
Rogge told a radio station that Norway ought to have the best qualifications for hosting another Olympic Winter Games. He said, “we all remember the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, which was considered the best Games ever. I’ll be more than happy to see Norway apply for the Winter Games in 2014, but remember that IOC is holding the applicants to very high standards”.
Norway will determine if either Lillehammer or the northern city of Tromsoe will be nominated the Norwegian bid city in about a year.
