Rio 2016 Unveils Olympic Park

Rio 2016 unveiled the winning project for its Olympic Park master plan Monday.

Officials said that the Olympic Park would have venues for 10 Olympic sports, including basketball, judo, taekwondo, wrestling, handball, hockey, tennis, cycling, aquatics and gymnastics, as well as 11 Paralympic sports.

Also on site would be the Main Press Center and the International Broadcast Center.

Once the Games end Rio plans to transform at least 60 per cent of the Olympic Park into other development projects.

The Aquatic Center, Olympic Velodrome, and the Olympic Arena will form South America’s first Olympic training centre said planners.

Organizers said they expect to sell more than three million tickets for the Games.
