Carlos Arthur Nuzman, President of Rio 2016, announced Monday that Leonardo Gryner is General Director of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
During Rio 2016’s bid Gryner was Communications and Marketing director, a position he also held during the Rio 2007 Pan American Games.
Nuzman said, “Leonard Gryner was with us in all stages of the process and knows the Rio 206 project in detail. The IOC Coordination Commission evaluation showed that the Rio 2016 Games organization is on the right track, and, in this new position, Leonardo Gryner will be crucial for us to face the challenges of the coming years”.
