According to an unscientific poll on New York based-Newsday’s Web Site, as of 12:45 p.m. EDT Friday, of 3323 participants, 73.2 per cent favoured a San Francisco 2012 Olympics as opposed to 26.8 per cent voting for New York.
In the independent Newsday poll the question asked is “who would you rather have host the 2012 Summer Olympics?”, with possible answers being either New York or San Francisco.
Meanwhile, officials of New York City’s Olympic bid group are working on an executive summary and an hour-long presentation to the United States Olympic Committee prior to a November 3 USOC decision to choose the U.S. candidate city for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
NYC2012 founder Dan Doctoroff is looking to stir up public support. He said, “we want to make eight million New Yorkers ambassadors for these Games”.
