Report Submitted To IOC For Compact Games

International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Richard Pound of Canada submitted a report to the IOC’s executive committee with more than 100 suggestions on how the Olympic Summer Games can be scaled down. The report will then be submitted to the plenary assembly in July in Prague.

There were also suggestions on how to limit the number of athletes participating in Olympic Games. More than 2000 athletes participated in the Sydney 2000 Summer Games at a cost of approximately $30,000 per athlete.

Also, the number of media representatives had ballooned to 22,000 costing $15,000 each.
