Recent Money Is On London, New York To Win 2012 Olympic Bid

Last week money was was flooding in for New York, this week the betters are choosing London – this according to Mark Worwood of Australia’s Centrebet.

There was enough betting on New York to push it into third place, the top long-shot ahead of Madrid and Moscow – two bids that seem to be fading fast.

But “…there has been a move for London over the weekend. I think that London was overpriced and that the market is correcting itself ahead of the vote” Worwood told GamesBids.com.

“The 2012 Games runners are on the marathon’s final lap and punters are betting that London leader Sebastian Coe is timing his team’s run to perfection.”

Centrebet, a leading online bookmaker neutrally outside of Europe, was the only bookmaker to quote bid winning Vancouver as the favourite for the 2010 Games.

Centrebet will be keeping its 2012 Olympic bid book open until the voting begins in Singapore on Wednesday. The odds will be updated throughout the day.

Current Centrebet Odds:
2-7 Paris
9-4 London
16-1 New York City
25-1 Madrid
50-1 Moscow
