A delegation from the PyeongChang 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games bid committee led by Kim Jin-sun, Governor of Gangwon Province and Executive President of the bid, will be attending the Oceania National Olympic Committees General Assembly March 22 and 23 in Pago Pago American Samoa where they will give a presentation about the bid and the potential benefits to sport in Oceania if PyeongChang hosts the 2014 Games.
Governor Kim said, “it is a privilege to be attending the ONOC General Assembly in America Samoa and to learn more about the issues facing sport in this part of the world. The enthusiasm for the Olympic Movement here demonstrates that it is truly universal. If PyeongChang is granted the honour of hosting the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games we are committed to helping winter sport grow beyond its traditional territories.
Since 2004 several hundred young people from countries with a warm climate have visited South Korea and participated in winter sport as part of our Dream Program. We have plans to expand the Dream Program and would be delighted to welcome young people form Oceania in the years to come”.
