President Kim Dae-jung, speaking at a governors’ meeting said, “if the Olympic Winter Games were successfully held, it would be very helpful in raising the status of the nation as well as helping to develop national sports programs”.
At the same meeting Governor Kim Jin-sun expressed the hope that Korea would give its support to the bid.
Meanwhile Pyeongchang’s bid is getting support from Doosan Beverage BG Inc. in the form of its second cheque presented recently for 100 million won with 100 million won to be contributed every three months over a period of five years.
