Now that Paris has become one of the five candidate cities for the 2012 Summer Olympic bid, the city has unveiled a new Web site and a national PR and advertising campaign kicks off next week.
On May 24 the Eiffel Tower will be draped in the colours of Paris 2012.
This is the third time Paris has been an official candidate city.
Philippe Baudillon, CEO of Paris 2012 said, “we are very pleased to have been given the chance to demonstrate our love of the Games once again. Our experience with the previous bids has taught us a great deal about the needs and aspirations of the IOC and the wider Olympic family. We firmly believe that Paris will meet those needs”.
He added, “holding the Games in Paris will inject tremendous energy and modernity into the country. Nationwide, support is already extensive, but we hope to encourage everyone in France to unite behind our offer”.
Paris is considered a frontrunner in the 2012 race.
