Reports say that Paris, one of the candidates for the 2008 Olympics, is the most visible of the 2008 contenders at the International Olympic Committee’s official hotel in Sydney.
Paris bid representatives dressed in matching blue blazers, with badges and pins that read “Oui Paris 2008, Pour Les Jeux” have been speaking to IOC members and anyone that looks like one.
Claude Bebear, head of the Paris Olympic bid, said Paris bid officials are simply trying to find out what IOC members are looking for in a 2008 Olympic Games. They also want to find out what athletes want.
Bebear said “everyone is pleased to go to Paris, and we have a lot of experience in sporting matters. We also think the weather would be perfect that time of year, and we can hold all the events close to the athletes’ village. Another thing we want people to know is that Paris is a much more multicultural city than it used to be”.
