AFP reports that Paris’ bid committee for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games has a new home. The committee has recently moved into 715 square metres (7,700 square feet) of office space in the exclusive Place d’lena at a cost of 1.25 million euros ($1.45 million U.S.), until the host city for the 2012 Games is announced in 2005.
Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe denied the new offices, which overlook the Eiffel Tower, were a rich man’s property.
He said, “these bright offices are a place for work, but pleasant to work in”.
