Paris has appointed one of Britain’s leading Olympic consultant’s London-based Jon Tibbs to its bid committee for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
London is one of Paris’ fiercest rivals for the 2012 Games.
Tibbs ran the public relations campaigns of the bids for Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
Reports say that Tibbs wanted to work for London and held talks with London 2012 bid leader Barbara Cassani.
He said, “look, it is like the manager of a football club. Managers can’t always run the clubs that they support”.
