During the school year, two buses decked out in the colours of the Paris 2008 bid have been travelling around Paris and the Ile-de-France region educating schoolchildren, and university students, as part of the “Paris 2008 Tour”.
And it may be working. Recent surveys show that support for Paris’ 2008 bid is steadily increasing in France. Eighty-nine per cent of those interviewed now support the bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games, as opposed to 86 per cent in October and 80 per cent in November, 1999.
Reports say that media coverage has had a significant effect on the support given to the Paris bid.
