Oslo’s city council said Friday the city of Oslo will bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, joining Trondheim, Tromsoe and Lillehammer who want to become Norway’s candidate.
The board of the Norwegian Olympic Committee and Confederation of Sports decided in June to submit an application for the 2018 Games, reports AFP.
According to AFP three or four cities competing could hinder Norway’s chances of hosting the event, and sports authorities have said they hope for a single Norwegian application in February 2007.
Norway hosted the Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 and in Lillehammer in 1994.
