Kjell Magne Bondevik, Norway’s Prime Minister, said he supports Tromsoe’s bid for the 2014 Winter Olympic bid when he visited the city on Tuesday.
Bondevik said, “Tromsoe have all the top qualities needed to organize the Olympic Games, and it would be great for the northern region to be able to host the Games”, reports NRK-TV.
The Prime Minister also said he fears that sports at the grassroot level could be harmed by spending more than NOK 10 billion on the Games.
Tromsoe and Lillehammer are both preparing applications to become Norway’s candidate for the 2014 Games.
