North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency reported Saturday that North Korea has confirmed it will host a leg of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games torch relay, following a formal agreement signed between North Korea and China in Pyongyang Saturday.
The flame, which is to pass through 22 cities in the four months before the Games, is expected to reach the North Korean capital of Pyongyang on April 28.
A day earlier the torch is scheduled to pass through the South Korean capital of Seoul.
The two Koreas have also agreed to send a joint team of officials to the Beijing Games by train as part of reconciliation efforts after their 1950-1953 civil war, reports the BBC.
