Gerhard Heiberg, head of marketing for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), says he’s working with Vancouver 2010 officials to prevent scalpers from selling high priced tickets to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
The Canadian Press (CP) reports Heiberg saying organizers are concerned that people snapping up tickets and reselling them at higher prices will keep the general public away from the Games.
Heiberg, in Vancouver touring 2010 Games venues, would give no details as to how Games officials will curb scalping.
Vancouver 2010 officials pledged to make 70 per cent of tickets to the Games available to the general public in its business plan, reports CP.
