No Concorde At London 2012 Opening Ceremony

London 2012 officials had hoped to have the retired Concorde lead a flypast of famous British aircraft at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, but the airline is refusing the request made by the Save Concorde Group.

The group asked British Airways for details of the costs of maintaining the Concorde so it could draw up a fundraising program, but Michael Doherty, a manager in British Airways engineering department, wrote in a letter to the group, “unfortunately we are unable to release the information you are requesting”.
