According to a poll conducted in Frankfurt’s daily newspaper which asked which German city should become the German candidate for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Frankfurt received 30.87 per cent of votes, Hamburg got 11.45 per cent, Leipzig had 10.47 per cent, Duesseldorf had 9.82 per cent and Stuttgart was last with 7.69 per cent.
Almost 14,000 citizens took part in the poll.
