NYC2012, the committee heading New York’s bid for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, will announce the five finalist designs for the Olympic Village on Wednesday March 10.
According to a press release the Olympic Village will house 16,000 athletes and members of the Olympic Family, and will provide world-class residential housing for up to 18,000 New Yorkers.
The five finalists are: Henning Larsens Tegnestue A/S (Copenhagen, Denmark), MVRDV (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), Morphosis Santa Monica, California, U.S.A.) Smith-Miller & Hawkinson Architects (New York, NY, U.S.A.) and Zaha Hadid Architects (London, UK).
The exhibit at Vanderbilt Hall will be on display through March 24 and is part of the selection process before a design is announced in May.
