When New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and a delegation of city officials fly to Europe tomorrow, one of the stops they will make will be Athens, the site of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.
Since New York is on the short list of candidates bidding for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, a tour of the facilities for the 2004 Games will be on the agenda.
New York assemblyman Mike Gianaris said, “hopefully we’ll be able to get some valuable knowledge with respect to our (New York) bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games”.
