New York 2012 Stadium Approval Delayed

New York Governor George Pataki agreed Tuesday night to remove the Jets stadium proposal vote from the agenda of the Public Authorities Control Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, a move that will cause further delays in the stadiums approval process.

The Jets stadium is also the proposed Olympic stadium and a key component for New York’s Olympic bid. The delay could severely jeopardize New York’s Olympic hopes.

According to reports the vote will be rescheduled for a special meeting before the next regular meeting of the board in June. The International Olympic Committee selects the 2012 host city on July 6.

Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno requested the delay explaining that he did not have enough information to make his decision. Any single vote against the proposal could kill the stadium plan.
