As part of its revised stadium plan being submitted Friday to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), New York 2012 has outlined a major sport legacy program for Athletics.
If New York hosts the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, 20,000 seats from the Olympic Stadium will be permanently installed in the new Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island after the Games are over, extending its capacity to 25,000 and allowing it to host high profile national and international Athletics competitions.
