Olympians and Paralympians joined New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New Yorkers at the City Hall Plaza Wednesday to debut NYC2012’s new advertising campaign for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, marking the final push for the bid before the 2012 host city is selected.
The new campaign includes television, print, outdoor, transit and online elements centering on the overall theme “Let The Dreams Begin”.
In addition to billboards, bus shelters, street pole banners, posters, television and print ads, Olympic logos and signs will appear on all of New York’s 4,000 subway cars, 7,000 buses and 13,000 taxicabs.
Meanwhile Olympians will be on hand at Sunday’s Super Bowl to lend support to the bid, which will be featured on the Jumbotron at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida before the game begins.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) evaluation commission is visiting the city February 21-24 to assess New York’s bid.
