The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission will be in New York February 21-24 and some aspects of the commission’s visit have been released recently.
According to The New York Sun the evaluation commission members will be staying at one of the city’s premier hotels, the Plaza, which overlooks Central Park.
They will be briefed on transportation and security, and on the design of the planned Olympic Village.
On the second day of New York 2012’s inspection the committee members will split up into groups and tour all the planned Olympic venues for the 2012 Games, including Madison Square Garden and the National Tennis Center. They will also examine plans for proposed facilities such as the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Beach Volleyball Arena, reports the newspaper.
They may also ride the subways and water taxis vital to NYC2012’s transportation plan.
