A new exhibition at Glasgow’s Mitchell Library will be shown to the Commonwealth Games committee next month when it visits Glasgow to inspect the city for its 2014 Commonwealth Games bid.
The pictures are a “fantastic” selection of Scotland’s best sport moments from the previous Commonwealth Games, said Ken Leitch, PR and Public Affairs Manager of 02 in Scotland, a major supporter of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bid.
He added, “we want to use this exhibition to get more people around the country to back the bid and to encourage more people to take up sport, not only for its health benefits, but for the enjoyment of the sport”.
Meanwhile former James Bond star Sir Sean Connery has been appointed an ambassador for Glasgow’s 2014 bid.
He will be asked to contact delegates from the Commonwealth countries and appear in a video presentation.
