Beijing 2008 says that more than 90 per cent of all web surfers on the new Beijing 2008 website “love the new look, design and user friendly interface”.
The revamped official site was launched June 12.
More than 9,800 visitors participated in an on-line survey, and 4,107 of the respondents said they were “extremely satisfied” while another 4,654 said they were “relatively satisfied” with the new site.
Participants praised the new site’s news column which had a satisfaction rate of 67 per cent, said Beijing 2008. The revised news column integrated the original website, provided faster access to Olympic information, and more comprehensive coverage of preparations for Beijing 2008. Bid officials say efforts are also being made to speed up and improve the news release process.
The original 30 columns were integrated into 12, which reorganized the sources of the website to allow users to browse and search information faster with themed graphics of the Beijing 2008 Games, using blue and white, and pagoda green as the dominant tone to represent the themes of Green Olympics and People’s Olympics.
