Moscow’s deputy mayor Mikhail Men says that Moscow has a strong concept of holding the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and already has most of the necessary infrastructure to host the 2012 Games.
He was speaking following the Moscow 2012 delegation’s visit to Athens to attend the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Athens 2004 organizing committee’s seminar held to share the experience of preparation and staging Olympic Games.
Men said that Moscow does not need too many additional investments to build sports centres because a number of facilities have already been built according to the city’s master construction plan.
Moscow is hosting the world pentathlon 2004 championship. The 2006 athletics winter world championship has been awarded to Rio de Janeiro. Rio is one of the eight cities competing against Moscow for the 2012 Games.
