Molson has contributed $2.5 million to Vancouver-Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation to become its newest Premier Founding Supporter.
Don Calder, CEO of the 2010 Bid Corporation, said, “we are absolutely delighted to have Molson on our team. Molson’s strong contribution and corporate leadership is essential as we move our bid onto the national and international stage”.
Dan O’Neill, Molson Inc. President and CEO said, “the Winter Games are all about striving for excellence and achievement, ideals which are inherent to the culture at Molson. Molson is known for its strong Canadian roots and we’re excited to be part of a Bid process that is reflective of Canadian pride and team spirit. We look forward to partnering with the Bid Corporation and other supporters who are lending their expertise to produce a winning bid. We also hope to be able to play a role in the development of our athletes as they prepare for the Games”.
Member partners of the Bid Corporation are the Province of British Columbia, the City of Vancouver, the Resort Municipality of Whistler and the Canadian Olympic Association.
The Bid Corporation’s board of directors is drawn from a variety of community interests, including all levels of government, First Nations and the business and sport communities. The Bid Corporation is supported by more than 30 companies, corporations and organizations.
