Madrid 2016 is launching a new web portal Monday April 21 featuring content in five sections, including detailed information on the city itself such as key places of interest, up-to-date news on bid developments and audio-visual content which includes videos of volunteers and high-profile supporters.
Mercedes Coghen, Madrid 2016 CEO said, “Madrid 2016 will be the Games for the People, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come. We are enormously proud of what our city has to offer and the new state of the art website will help raise awareness and support for what we are trying to achieve”.
The new website is at www.madrid2016.es.
The five sections of the portal are Enjoy Madrid which has a complete guide of all the city has to offer, including theatre and music venues, restaurants and hotels, as well as transport information; news and interviews with sports people and an event agenda where readers can subscribe to a periodical bulletin to receive up-to-date news; Our Bid with information about the bid being presented to the International Olympic Committee (IOC); Support The Bid featuring interviews with and user-generated pictures and videos of volunteers committed to offering their support as well as videos of some of the high profile supporters of the bid over recent months as part of the “Envoys 26” program; and Sponsoring Program which provides more details on how to become a sponsor and /or consult existing sponsoring companies.
The new website will have a dedicated Press Room offering the media the latest news together with picture galleries and further background information.
The website will be launched in Spanish, English and French, with Chinese and Arabic translations available in the near future.
