Madrid’s city council has launched the second of three stages of the Cyclist Green Ring, a project that allows people to have access to the majority of Olympic infrastructure without having to use public or private transportation, should the city host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
More than 15 kilometres of road six metres wide are to be completed in 18 months. Four hundred kilometres are earmarked for bicycles.
Once the entire ring road is completed it will be 60 kilometres long.
