Madrid 2012 Gets City Council Support

Madrid 2012’s Summer Olympic bid has the unanimous support of the Plenary session of the City council of Madrid for the questionnaire that will be sent to the Spanish Olympic Committee. It’s the first step in Madrid’s bid to become the Spanish candidate for the 2012 Games.

The Plenary session has also given its endorsement to the statutes of the partnership “Madrid Olympic City”, constituted for the promotion, organization and execution of Olympic infrastructures, as well as for the management of the resources necessary to carry them out.

Should Madrid become 2012 host city, the Games would be held from August 10 to 26, 2012.

Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga, Cordova, Palma de Mallorca, Aranjuez and Rivas-Vaciamadrid will share in the development of the Olympic Games with Madrid.
